A selection of previously unreleased Synthwave works created between 2017 and 2022.
Track 1 - Introduction To Nowhere
Created circa 2018 (I think) as a potential album opener for Ideality. It ended up not being right for Ideality, and I never found another suitable project to use it on (until now).
Track 2 - Penthouse Days
This track was created for a commission in late 2017, early 2018. The commission was for a video-game demo/proof-of-concept. The project was not able to secure the necessary funding to go into full development (at least not yet).
Track 3 - Sun-Kissed
This was created several years ago (I forget when exactly) for a collaborative project. It were intended to form part of a Synthwave album alongside works by other artists. The album hit a few hurdles and never got completed.
Track 4 - Mr Driver
A long time ago (I forget exactly when... maybe 2016-2017) there was a lot of hype and excitement in the synthwave scene around a video-game demo. The game in question was called "PowerDrive 2000" and was a very cool looking Synthwave themed arcade racing video-game.
To further add to the excitement, it had a strong roster of musicians lined up to contribute music to the finished game and the promotional material stated it was even going to be released on the PlayStation 4.
After much hype, excitement, and a successful crowd funding campaign, news about the game grew ever-quieter. I don't know what happened, but can only assume the developer hit some snags and was unable to finish the game.
I was one of the artists slated to provide music for the game. By my 2022 standards, the piece I made for the game had some questionable production value. I have however tidied it up as best I can in an attempt to bring it closer to my current production ability.
Track 5 - Altair Dawn
Like 'Sun-Kissed' (track 3 of this EP), 'Altair Dawn' was created several years ago (I forget when exactly) for a collaborative project. Both this track and Sun-Kissed were intended to form part of a Synthwave album alongside works by other artists. The album hit a few hurdles and never got completed.
